Obituary of Barton Weeks

WEEKS, Barton H. age 90, died peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Bart was born in the Bronx, NY on December 25, 1917. He was a resident of Wyckoff for the past 60 years. Bart was an engineer supervisor for ITT Marlow in Midland Park for 40 years before his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff where he served in many capacities. His main enjoyment was all types of music. A member of the Church Choir, the New Jersey Choral Society and the North Jersey Chorus, he also enjoyed photography and was a member of the Ridgewood Camera Club. He belonged to the Hobbyists and Activities Unlimited. Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years Jean (nee Stratton), his devoted daughter Nancy Jean Weeks of Wyckoff, his daughter-in-law Leslie Kreider Weeks of West Hartford, CT and his granddaughter, Ellen Reilly Weeks of New York City. Bart was pre-deceased by his son Donald Barton Weeks in 2003. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:30 am at the Grace United Methodist Church, 555 Russell Avenue, Wyckoff. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 214, Wyckoff, NJ 07481, or the Grace United Methodist Church Renewal Fund.
