Obituary of Ellen Ross

Ellen A. Ross, 64, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Ellen was born in the Bronx, grew up in Waldwick, NJ,and was a resident of Park Ridge, NJ, for over 35 years. She worked as a secretary for Montvale Public Schools and Bergen County Academies for 18 years.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Stephanie and her husband Jered Vassallo, and her sons Brian and Kevin. She was adored by many lifelong friends, whose lives she had a profound impact on.  She is also survived by her brother, Chris Reardon, and sister, Margaret Gunther, as well as a niece and several nephews. She was predeceased by her late husband of 36 years, Bruce Ross, as well as her parents, William and Nancy Reardon, her brother John Reardon, and her sister, Diane Berish. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 5 to 8pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11am at St. Luke’s RC Church, Ho-Ho-Kus, followed by a burial of ashes at Maryrest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
