Obituary of Joseph Aquino

Joseph L. Aquino “Joe” passed away peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the age of 83. Born in Chicago, Ill, he lived in Upper Saddle River before moving to Wyckoff. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1963.  After 41 dedicated years of employment at the United Parcel Service, Joe retired as a Vice President Regional Manager.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Marilyn C. Aquino, two daughters: Kathy Schappert, Kimberly Reisen, her husband Keith; five grandchildren: Brian (Cate) Schappert, Casey Gorman (Michael), Jeffrey Schappert, Gianna Reisen and Jace Reisen; two great grandchildren: Henry and Owen Schappert. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. Contributions in Joe’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Ave., #203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
