I was telling a uplifting story about Joe and found this sad news in searching for his photo. As a young manager at UPS, Joe mentored me through many new, and sometimes tough, situations. I didn't go to Joe, he came to me sensing when I needed support. I owe my career in many regards to the 4 years I spent on his East Region staff. Joe taught me the value of having a purpose, a plan, and a tenacity to execute. He was a supportive and true leader. I am so sad to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family and close friends.

Joe was a throwback to a time when you had " partners" not just friends.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

I am at a loss for the right words, I have known Joe since 1969 and considered him to be one of the most dedicated partners I have ever worked with. He knew what to say and when to say it. And he always made you feel like an important part of the partnership team at UPS. God Bless you Joe

I knew Joe many years ago. We did some Labor work together when he was District Mgr. in Cincinnati. Joe was always upbeat, energetic and had a great sense of humor, devoted to his wife and girls. God’s blessings and comfort to his family.

To the family!
I met Joe in 1967 when he got his first
District Managers job. What a dynamic guy he was - tough as nails yet smooth as silk when it was needed. My years of shared service with him were among the best to help a young 2Lt Army Officer learn management of people. I worked for Joe for
Several years and I never recall him being unfair or off base in helping me advance- I was promoted to Staff Mgr. Under Joe then Regional staff Mgt. So you see my career
For the most part was due to his Leadership! A real Leader and key man at UPS! May God have him in his hands now and may all his family have loving memories ! God Bless you all!
