Jane,
We are so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. We would liked to have known you both but we are only going to Paramus Reformed Church for 2 years. We want to thank your husband for serving our country! Our oldest son served in the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Carson in CO & our youngest son served as a Marine with two tours in Afghanistan. By God's grace (& your husband as well) we are very thankful he came home safely.
Know that you & your family will be in our prayers. Praying for His comfort & support during this difficult time.

Dear Jane, Jennifer and Lindsay-
I am truly saddened by the loss of your beloved husband and father. Gene had a wonderfully lively personality and will be missed. I wish I had been able to spend more time with him and get to know him even better. He was very helpful to me when I first moved to northern New Jersey and for that I am grateful. I will always remember him with fondness and a smile. Please accept my deepest condolences--
your cousin,
Katie Cosco

All of us on Tinmouth Pond are very sad to hear of Gene's passing. I always enjoyed talking to him- we shared ideas about building with wood. He was a good man. Please know we are keeping you all in our thoughts and if there is anything we can do for you here on the pond, please don't hesitate to ask.
Peace,
Roxane Johnson DeLear

Tinmouth Pond won't ever be the same again. But we take comfort in knowing that Gene will always be there in spirit to greet one and all, with steaks on the grill, the wine and scotch flowing freely, and the never ending crack of the bocce balls on the lawn sounding like thunder coming across the pond.
With love to Jane, Jennifer, Lindsay and family.

Jane,
I'm so sorry for your loss. There will never be another like Gene. I will miss his awesome personality and especially his wise cracks when we were together. You were both there for me for some of my roughfest times, and you have always been a part of my family, since we met over 15 years ago. Gene always swore I was a spy, which always brought a chukle and smile to my face. I will miss his friendship and great coversations that we had over dinner and many glasses of wine. Please know that I am here for you if you need help with anything.

Dear Jane, Lindsay & Jennifer,
I'm so sorry to hear the news. I have many lasting memories of spending time with your family in Vermont that I'll never forget, including when Gene told me that if I started snowboarding I'd never be allowed back to the house!
He was a great man who knew how to have fun and I deeply appreciate the time I was able to spend with him.
With deepest sympathy,
Steve Kreis

Jane,
I am so sorry to hear about Gene, he was such a great guy and we all adored him. I remember growing up that everytime we heard that Gene and Jane were coming to town, I would be so excited to head down to Aunt Millie's to see both of you! I haven't seen him in many years but I still thought of him often and wondered how both of you were doing. My son Roland only met Gene one time and he walked away saying to me that your cousin is a really nice guy, I really enjoyed talking to him. Well, that's no surprise, Gene was a great guy and will be truly missed.
I pray that you will find peace in the beautiful memories you have of him and take comfort in knowing that he was loved by all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls.
Again, I am truly sorry for your loss
Love Lydia

Ever since kindergarten when Jordan would race Lindsey to be first in line to start the day and lose, the Bells knew that this family was special. Becoming part of the Cosco's inner circle is at the top of our happy memories of living in Montvale. Irreverent Gene, made me, Karen feel right at home. My Brooklyn upbringing is in sharp contrast to Tim's southern gentleman charm. Gene and I understood each other at our centers. Tell it straight is a mantra we both practiced. We verbally sparred, Gene and I, and it was a game we both enjoyed. Tim and I could be ourselves around him. No pretense. No BS. He was authentic and a hoot. But under the rough veneer, his heart of gold shone through. His family was his life. He was the grantor of wishes. Supportive and generous. The focal point that everyone circled around as they followed their dreams. It was heart warming to witness. Tim and I were proud to know him. Loved to party with him. Enjoyed his cooking skills and passing around a good bottle of whisky. The man, Gene, acquired a taste for grabbing life, experiencing all within reach. His sense of humor, his enthusiasm for adventure, and his to loyalty to family and friends brought joy to all who knew him. His hearty laugh and quick wit will grace the heavenly ether and those of us left behind will cherish his memory and feel sorrow for the loss of our dear friend, Gene.
