I was introduced to Washnik photography in the 80s and worked with Andy's father for several years and, after his passing, was thrilled to be able to work with Andy on projects throughout my career. Since launching my own business, he has been my biggest supporter and advisor, not to mention my website designer and host. I will miss him terribly and the beauty that he captured on film. Loving thoughts of sympathy to Connie, Tanya and Nick...thank you for sharing Andy with all of us.

Dear Connie and family- I was so very saddened to hear about Andy. May God's peace and strength be with you all. Andy was truly a special human being. He always brought a special peace and happiness everywhere he was with his smile and personality. The world has lost one of the "good ones". May your personal memories help heal and always keep him close in your hearts. I am sorry I was not able to come to the service to pay my respects in person, you are in my prayers. Love and Peace, Barbara Facciolla

I had met Andy back in the mid 90's when I had gone on an interview with another photographer who was sharing studio space with him. Had he not been shooting that day, I wonder if I would have ever met him. Andy introduced me to ASMP and I ended up joining. All these years later and I am now a board member of ASMP NJ. Sadly, I don't think I had told him that I was on the board. I always remember working with Andy and that it was an enjoyable day. He was a great person to work for and I learned so much from him. I know he loved his family and I am so sorry for their loss. He was a very positive person and a joy to be around.

My deepest sympathies to the Washnik family. I was a photographer friend of Andy's. We met while establishing the NJ Chapter of ASMP. I recall Andy being the clear leader of that movement as well as the "peacemaker" between differing factions during those formative days of the organization. I have fond memories of his smile, optimism and his zeal for life, as well as his passion for art and photography; most of all, his love of family which he shared through his creative holiday greeting cards! God bless you in this time of sorrow.

I am the current President of the American Society of Media Photographers for the New Jersey Chapter. It should be noted that Andy was very instrumental in creating the New Jersey Chapter. Before the chapter was created, members would need to go to NYC or Philadelphia to attend meetings and events. His hard work and enthusiasm is why the chapter exists. He also spent time on the ASMP national Board and worked to protect the rights of photographers world wide. Andy was on the Board before I joined ASMP but we often refer to him and his accomplishments for the photography industry. Although he will be missed, the results of his accomplishments will exists forever.

Andy's memory lives on in the legacy of the Path of Beauty and through all those he touched in this lifetime ... and in the words of John O'Donohue ... Though we need to weep your loss, You dwell in that safe place in our hearts, Where no storm or night or pain can reach you. Your love was like the dawn Brightening over our lives, Awakening beneath the dark A further adventure of colour. The sound of your voice Found for us A new music That brightened everything. Whatever you enfolded in your gaze Quickened in the joy of its being; You placed smiles like flowers On the altar of the heart. Your mind always sparkled With wonder at things. Though your days here were brief, Your spirit was alive, awake, complete. We look towards each other no longer From the old distance of our names; Now you dwell inside the rhythm of breath, As close to us as we are to ourselves. Though we cannot see you with outward eyes, We know our soul's gaze is upon your face, Smiling back at us from within everything To which we bring our best refinement. Let us not look for you only in memory, Where we would grow lonely without you. You would want us to find you in presence, Beside us when beauty brightens, When kindness glows And music echoes eternal tones. When orchids brighten the earth, Darkest winter has turned to spring; May this dark grief flower with hope In every heart that loves you. May you continue to inspire us: To enter each day with a generous heart. To serve the call of courage and love Until we see your beautiful face again In that land where there is no more separation, Where all tears will be wiped from our mind, And where we will never lose you again.

I am so sorry and sad to hear of Andy's passing. I was a high school classmate of Andy’s, and I thought very highly of him. I haven’t seen him in many many years, but I could tell from his emails that he loved his family and they, along with his friends, were very important to him. You and your family are in my heart and prayers.
