Dear Ed, Not too many little sisters have the benefit of having a big brother/surrogate father all rolled up into one. I was one of the lucky ones. Thank you for enriching my life, especially in the past few months, for making me smile when I wanted to cry, for all the love and support you gave so freely. Not to mention all those delicious meals delivered at just the right time! You had the ability to light up a room…and your talent to deliver those jokes cannot be matched…no matter how hard I try! In the end, the words of your beloved Lou Gehrig rang true….you were the luckiest man on the face of the earth - a life well lived, your family surrounding you…..and daughters whose love and devotion are an inspiration to all around them. Our family has lost its patriarch, and heaven has gained an angel. I will miss you and love you forever…..please remember our promise…… All my love, Patti

Dear Kathleen,Eddie and family, Ray and I were so sorry to hear about your dad. We know how close you were to him and how special he was to you and your family. We didn't know him personally, but from everything we have heard he was a very loving man and apparently really loved to cook! Lots of fun memories to hold onto and share. Uncle Ed - I hope you are smiling down on your family hearing all these wonderful words and memories. You've given us all enough laughs over the years to last a lifetime. From that picture next to your bedside of Aunt Jo looking at you so so adoringly, I can tell you succeeded as a husband. From the glow on Kathleens face when she talks about you, I can tell you succeeded as a father. From these notes from Jacklyn and Jess, I know you succeeded as a grandfather. For the way you stood by my mom's side every day of her recovery, I know you succeeded as a brother - my mother holds those conversations you had so dear to her heart and I cannot thank you enough for them. To a life well lived... All my love, Elaina

So sorry to hear about Ed's passing. He was a wonderful man. Very kind and funny. I will never forget the conversations we had at Andy and Joanne's house at our family gatherings. He would always have us in stitches especially with his imitations and stories. What a great Yankee fan too!! I will miss his cooking too, especially his stuffing and pasta w/peas. Jenn loved his Bonneville. It was the best first car a person could have. It was a privilege to know him. April, Jenn, Kristine and Michael Ruth

Dear Dad, I am going to miss you so much. All the things we did together, all our shopping excursions, and me always getting lost. You tried to never miss any of the kids activities, even cooking for the soccer parties. All the fun we have living on the farm and you in the cottage.Going to Lake George and down to the beach to feed the ducks. Celebrating every b-day party with the whole family. All the little surprises you would leave on the kitchen counter when I was not home. Raider loved all his treats too. Every time I mentioned a new book, the next day it would be on my counter. The last two weeks were fantastic for you. You were surrounded by all your famlily friends. You had all your favorite food. You were surrounded by all your yankee pictures. I considerd these last two weeks a gift that I could be with you at all. I will treasure these last two weeks with you forever. Always remenber how much I LOVE you and I will MISS you forver. Kiss Mom for me.
