Obituary of Bruce Gaeta

GAETA, Honorable Bruce A. age 65, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Bruce was born in Hackensack on June 14, 1942. He was a life long resident of Wyckoff. Bruce retired in 2006 as Superior Court Judge State of New Jersey in Hackensack after 19 years of service. He was a graduate of Ramapo High School, Seton Hall University and New York Law School. His hobbies were coaching baseball in Wyckoff, fishing, flying RC airplanes, sports and playing cards at the Fire House. Bruce was a member of the New Jersey and Bergen County Bar Associations, Lakeland RC Flying Club and Protection Fire Company # 1 Association of the Wyckoff Fire Dept. Surviving is his loving wife of 37 years, Jacqueline (nee Portnoy), his devoted children, Jennifer A. Gaeta of Asbury Park, Joseph B. Gaeta of Wyckoff, and his grandson Connor. Bruce also leaves his brothers, Anthony Gaeta, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, and Ronald Gaeta of Sussex, NJ, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 11:00 am at the Advent Lutheran Church, 777 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff. Entombment will be in the Hackensack Cemetery. Visiting is Sunday 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Monday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
