Obituary of John Leonard
LEONARD, John J."Jack", age 77, died peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2008. Born in Troy NY, he lived in Wyckoff for 35 years before moving to Washingtonville, NY five years ago. Jack was a sales representative with AT&T of Newark before retiring in 1995. He was a very active former parishioner of St. Elizabeth R.C. Church of Wyckoff where he served as lectern. Jack was a United States Army veteran who served his country in the Korean War. He is survived by his four sons; John J., III and his wife Ellen of Stafford, VA, Andrew of Clifton Park, NY, Timothy and his wife Janna of Washingtonville, NY and Mark and his wife Lori of Hamilton, NJ. He is also survived by his twelve dear grandchildren; Ellen, Kelly, Casey, Mary, Andrew, Jr., Christopher, Kevin, Kyle, Keith, Kael, Mark Jr., and Alexis, his brother Edward of Atlanta, GA and his two sisters; Patricia Hurley of Troy, NY and Mary Esmay of Guilderland, NY. Jack was predeceased by his dear wife Mary Ann in 1998. Friends may visit the family on Friday evening, 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. (vpfh.com) Funeral mass, Saturday, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, followed by interment in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834, would be appreciated.
