Obituary of Dorothy Brezsnyak

Brezsnyak, Dorothy (nee Donnelly) age 90 of Glen Rock, formerly of Brooklyn, NY died Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Born in Brooklyn, NY she lived there until moving to Glen Rock 27 years ago. She was a 1939 Graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, and a Graduate of St. Francis College, both in Brooklyn, NY. Dorothy was a Registered Nurse who worked at Coney Island Hospital, and served as the Director of Central Sterile Supply, Downstate University Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY and just prior to her retirement worked at Van Dyk Nursing Home in Ridgewood. She was a parishioner of St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Glen Rock, NJ and a member of the New York State Nurses' Association. Surviving are her children, MaryAnn and her husband Richard Henke of Washington Township, Alexander Brezsnyak of Staten Island, NY, Frances and her husband John Flood of Chalfont, PA and William and his wife Carol Brezsnyak of Glen Rock, NJ. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander Brezsnyak in 1983 and her son Andrew Brezsnyak in 1975. Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Friday 11 a.m. at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 Franklin Tpk. Ho Ho Kus, NJ.
