Obituary of Erma Pierce

PIERCE, Erma Marie (nee Opinante), age 77, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Emerson for many years before moving to Wyckoff. Before marriage she was a legal secretary. She went on to provide a loving home for her husband and eight children. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church of Emerson and later attended St. Elizabeth R.C. Church when she moved to Wyckoff. Erma is survived by her daughters; Margaret Oliver of Wyckoff, Rosemarie Mazzei of Park Ridge, Nancy Jean Roberts of Skaneatales, NY, Joananne Bachmann of Sparta, Maribeth Pierce of Hasbrouck Heights, Marilynn Martin of San Clemente, CA, and her sons; Peter Pierce of New Milford and William Pierce of Hackensack. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and her brother Eugene Opinante of Nesconset, NY. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur in 1990. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 2 �" 4 & 7 �" 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481, www.vpfh.com. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
