Obituary of Ethel Shields

Shields, Ethel (nee Schoon) age 87 of North Haledon died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Holland Christian Home. Born in Paterson she lived in Hawthorne and Midland Park before recently moving to North Haledon. Before her retirement Ethel worked in the School Cafeteria at Northern Highlands High School, Allendale, NJ. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Hawthorne and a member of its Senior Citizens group. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Midland Park VFW Post 7086, and a former member of the Imperial Knights Booster Club, Midland Park. Surviving are her daughters, Lavene and her husband Eric Jones of Gurnee, IL and Catherine and her husband Gerald Swede of Wayne. Also surviving are six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Shields in 1978. All services will be private. Arrangements by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
