Obituary of Edmund VanCott

Edmund Van Cott, 92, long time resident of Oakland passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at his home. Born in Brooklyn, NY he served in WWII in the 14th Air Force HQ and HQ Squadron in China, India and Burma. Following the war, he earned degrees from Pace and Columbia Universities. Before retiring, Edmund was employed by Tenneco Chemical in Saddle Brook for 32 years. He also served as the Court Clerk for the Borough of Oakland for 23 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Rosemary (Dudek) Van Cott, Three children: Edmund Van Cott, Paul Van Cott and Carol Walton and five grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 17 Pompton Ave., Pompton Lakes. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
