Obituary of Grace Freeman
Grace I. Freeman (née Wahlberg), was born on May 29, 1923 in Brockton, MA
She resided at Cedar Crest Village, formerly living in Franklin Lakes and Glen Rock, NJ. Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard H. Freeman.
She is survived by her three daughters, Suzanne Herlihy and her husband Tom, Barbara Carr Piercy and her husband Don, and Nancy Shortway and her husband Jeff, as well as her dear brother Roger Wahlberg, and her cherished Godson Ron Olsen. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas Howard Herlihy, Kyle Herlihy and his wife Claudine, Ryan Herlihy and his wife Erin, Michael Carr, Jeffrey H. Shortway, Jacki G. Shortway Blaber and her husband Justin, and Meghan Herlihy, and two great-grandchildren Teagan Grace Herlihy and Colin Howard Herlihy.
Grace was a longtime member of Hackensack Golf Club where she enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her treasured friends.
In Glen Rock, she served on the school PTA, was a Girl Scout leader, and an active member of the Glen Rock Community Church.
While her husband was overseas during the war, she worked as a dental hygienist.
Along with her mother and sister, Grace was a former member of the Eastern Star.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Make A Wish Foundation, 1347 Perrineville Rd., Monroe Township, NJ 08831 or your favorite charity would be appreciated. A family service was held privately. Arrangements were by Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff.
