Obituary of Nancy Taylor

Nancy Glaze Taylor, age 76, of Mahwah passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Nancy was the youngest of seven children and was born on the 10th of September in 1937 in Gainesville, Georgia, to Ike and Beulah Glaze. Nancy graduated from Gainesville High where she met and married her high school sweetheart Stephen A. Taylor. They quickly started a family, raising two sons and a daughter. Both Nancy and Steve worked together for over 40 years at the Courier Corporation in several cities including Glasgow, Scotland. After Nancy lost her loving husband and best friend of 38 years in 1994, she retired and in 1996 moved to the Low Country of South Carolina. Nancy never did slow down, embracing the warmer climate, joining a country club and mastering the art of golf. Nancy became an avid golfer and she and her children had the opportunity to play many rounds of golf together and even competed in a number of PGA Tour Pro Am Events. Nancy also made many new friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. Nancy was an active member of Christ Church in Beaufort before moving to Mahwah, New Jersey to be with family in 2012. She has entered into eternal life along side her husband Stephen A. Taylor, son David R. Taylor, siblings: Jesse Dean Williams, Elaine Gabriel, Garland Glaze, W.I. Glaze, Elizabeth Glaze Anderson and her sister-in-law June Taylor. Her spirit lives on with her family: son Robert A. Taylor and his wife Phyllis, daughter Patricia J. Taylor, grandchildren: Nathan, Brittany, Brogan, Taylor, Cameron, Carrington and Jordan, sister and brother-in-law Joanne and William Vaughan, brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Taylor and his wife Gail, Rev. Walter Taylor and his wife Mary, Richard Taylor and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00pm - 9:00pm on Thursday, the 9th of January at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A Memorial Mass is to be offered at 10:00am on Friday, the 10th of January, at Church of the Guardian Angel, 320 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, NJ 07401. Contributions in Nancy's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 1031 US 22, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in Nancy's memory.
