Obituary of Mary J. Murphy
Mary J. Murphy, (nee Lynch), of North Haledon died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. She was 88 years of age. Born in Paterson, she attended St. John's High School and went on to attend college at a time when women rarely extended their education. She was married to Frank W. Murphy Sr. Esq., the former Postmaster of Paterson, who predeceased her in 1996. She lived in North Haledon for 40 years. Mrs. Murphy ultimately pursued a career in family, raising five children. She was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Franklin Lakes. Surviving are her children, Frank W. Murphy Jr. and his wife MaryLou of Ramsey, MaryFrank Verrone of Park City, UT, Maureen and her husband Louis Morelli of Malibu, CA, Sharon and her husband John Borino of North Haledon, and Kathleen S. Murphy of Brielle . Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren, Craig and Keith Murphy, Mark, Glen and Scot Verrone, Ryan and L.Todd Morelli, Sean Ryan, Megan and Kaitlin Borino , and Reagan Murphy, and 2 great grandchildren, Samantha and Jack Ryan. Visiting hours are Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Tuesday 11:30 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd.
