Obituary of John Santimauro
SANTIMAURO, John F. age 86 of Wyckoff, died peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. John was born in Lodi on May 24, 1921, he lived in Wyckoff since 1954. John was Technical Director and Chemist for Harmon Colors later known as Bayer Chemical Corp. in North Haledon for 42 years before his retirement in 1986. For the next 15 years he was in private practice as a consulting chemist. John was a member of the New York Chapter of the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church in Wyckoff, and served his country during World War II in the United States Army 19th Bombardment Group on Guam where he received the Purple Heart. Surviving is his devoted son Mark D. Santimauro and his wife Joyce of Wyckoff, his adoring grandchildren, Tara and Christopher Santimauro, his brother Michael F. Santimauro of Elmwood Park, and his sister Rose Holdridge of Valley Cottage, NY. John was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 59 years Emily (nee Springman) in 2001. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:30 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will follow 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will be in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting is Monday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Institute for Metabolic Disorders (PKU Research), c/o Mount Sinai Medical Center (Development Office), 1 Gustave L. Levy Place, P.O.
