Obituary of Michael Ryan

RYAN, Michael J., age 62 of Franklin Lakes, died on Tuesday March 11, 2008. Michael was born in New York City on February 18, 1946, served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Michael lived in Wood-Ridge for 10 years, then Ridgewood for 5 years before moving to Franklin Lakes 1 ½ years ago. He was a Corrections Lieutenant with the Bergen County Sheriff's Department until he retired in June 2007. Michael was a member of the New Jersey Police Honor Legion and the New Jersey PBA Local 134. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, his sons Michael and his wife Tracey of North Carolina, and Eric and his wife Heather of Bayonne, daughter Samantha Ryan of Bayonne, Step-sons Donald Steimle of Beachwood, Jack Steimle of Franklin Lakes, Thomas Steimle of Wayne and Step-daughter Carol Saluppo of Franklin Lakes. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his brother Bernard and his wife Pat of Tavinier, FL. Visiting hours are on Friday,March 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Prayers will begin at the Vander Plaat Funeal Home on Saturday at 9:00 am with a funeral mass at 10:00 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd., Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417.
