Obituary of Elizabeth Ackerman

ACKERMAN, Elizabeth (nee Smey) age 79, died after an extended illness. Born in Clifton, she lived in Midland Park before moving to Ramsey 50 years ago. Elizabeth was a homemaker and also a graduate of Montclair College who later taught English and dance prior to marrying her beloved husband Wilson and raising three children. She is survived by her dear children; Glenn of Ramsey and Susan Ackerman-Pondexter and her husband Allen of Tampa, FL, her six grandchildren; Mary, Hannah, Stephanie, Kevin, Michael and Xavier, her sister Johanna Smey and her best friend Marie Ackerman. Also survived by Arnold Ackerman. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilson in 1998 and her dear son Kevin in 1984. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment, Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
