Obituary of Judy Moody

Moody, Judy (nee Vought) of Wyckoff died Friday, November 15, 2013. Born in Allegheny County, PA she lived in Wyckoff before recently moving to Skillman. She was a long time member of the Ridgewood community before moving to Wyckoff for a brief time. Judy was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, NJ and was a very involved member of a number of community organizations including the Valley Hospital Auxiliary and the Junior League of Bergen County. She served as Chairman of the Valley Ball Committee and was integral in the Junior League's and Children's Aide and Adoption to secure, rehabilitate and launch "Woodlea", a group home for girls. She served on the advisory board for "Woodlea" for many years. Judy was a buyer for Lord and Taylor for several years before she had her children. She worked for more than a decade at Mc Hugh's in Ridgewood as a salesperson until it shut its doors and then for the store Alice, Alice, Alice, also in Ridgewood, until her retirement. Judy graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 1959. Surviving is her daughter, Courtenay and her husband John Szakats of Skillman, her granddaughters, Caroline and Kimberley Szakats, both of Skillman. Also surviving is her sister, Sally Stewart of West Chester, PA. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred G.S. Moody Jr. in 2000 and her son Alfred G.S. Moody III in 2011. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11 am at West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Monroe St. Ridgewood, NJ. Private Cremation was held.
