Obituary of Henry Amos
AMOS, Henry, age 75, of Midland Park, died on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Born in Paterson, he was a life long resident of Midland Park. Henry owned and operated the Hen's Roost in Oakland for 38 years. He was also a life member of the Midland Park Fire Department where he served as Chief, a life long member of Faith Reformed Church where he served as deacon and elder, and a member of the Panther Creek Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Lois, his children Donna Riemersma and her husband Jim of Sheboygan, WI, Jim Amos and his wife Kristen of Midland Park, NJ and Jodi and her husband Ed Koment of Lewisville, NC, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Stegink.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3 - 7 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A memorial service celebrating Henry's life is Thursday, 11:00 AM at the Faith Reformed Church, 95 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ 07432.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Reformed Church, or the Eastern Christian School Foundation, 50 Oakwood Avenue, North Haledon, NJ 07508.
