Obituary of Afsar Fatemi

Afsar S. wife of Dr. Faramarz S. Fatemi, Professor Emeritus, Fairleigh Dickinson University died October 14, 2013 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. She was 75 years old and lived in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. Mrs. Fatemi daughter of Maryam Farman Farmaian Firouz and General Abbas Gholi Nouri Esfandiary was born in Tehran, Iran. Afsar completed her primary and secondary education in England and was a graduate of Parsons School of Design. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts and Design from New York University. Mrs. Fatemi worked at the Guggenheim Museum, was a parent educator and in her volunteer activity, her emphasis was to help the needy. Her husband often credited her as his inspiration for his success and achievements. She is survived by her husband Faramarz S. Fatemi, her daughter Roshanak F. Lyle and son-in-law Keith A. Lyle, two beautiful grandchildren, Gavin and Chase Lyle, and son-in-law Peter Moir. Also surviving is her sister Afsaneh Nouri Esfandiary Gidfar. She was predeceased by her daughter Faranak Fatemi Moir. Funeral services are private. The family will receive friends at home on Sunday October 20th, 2013, between 5 and 8 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Project ALS, 801 Riverside Drive, Apt 6G, NY, NY 10032, in memory of Faranak Moir.
