I was saddened by the news that Chris has passed away. We worked together at Chemical Bank for an extended period, and I came to know him there as a fine professional and a fine human being. He was a true gentleman, with a genuine concern for others. I came to appreciate his integrity, his sense of humor, and his balanced attitude towards life and work. I know that his death is a great loss for you. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

I am one of Chris's cousins from Houston and am sorry to here of Chris's passing. My Dad (Leonard) and his Mom were brother/sister. I know he has been fighting a long and hard battle. Chris fought the strong fight. When my mom and I went to Jill's funeral in California, I got to catch up with many of my Gaertner related cousins and he was feeling ill at that time and couldn't make it. I remeber the first time I met Chris. I was a kid and the Gaertner family came down to Houston and brought us some live Lobster (we have crawfish only down here!)I will never forget how big his feet were! They were huge! Maybe it was because he was sleeping in one of our twin beds and his feet were hanging off the end of the bed! Chris is now with other family members..... My prayers to family and friends. With Deepest Sympathy, David Hulsebosch
