Obituary of Charles Heidt

Heidt, Charles F. age 86 of Pompton Plains died Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Born in Hackensack he grew up in Cliffside Park before moving to Wyckoff for 48 years and most recently to Pompton Plains 7 years ago. Charles was a Navy WW II veteran. He worked for Tetor and Schmultz Insurance in Ridgewood before taking over. Mr. Heidt was the previous owner of Charles F. Heidt Insurance Agency, of Ridgewood and then in Wyckoff, NJ where he retired. A member of the Lions Club of Wyckoff for over 40 years serving as a past president. He was passionate of deer hunting with his son and grandson, along with fishing with the rest of his family and always making everyone laugh. Surviving is his son Charles F. Heidt Jr and his wife Nancy of Lake Pleasant, NY, his daughter Robin L. Heidt and her husband Michael Leo of Vernon, NJ, and John Lind of Cliffside Park. Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren, Charles F. Heidt III and his wife Emily, John W. Lind and his wife Antonella, Heather L. Heidt and Scott Lind and one great granddaugther, Luccia Rosa Lind, his brother William R. Heidt and his wife Eileen of Little Silver, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Jeannie L. Heidt in 2009. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Olthuis Funeral Home, www.olthuisfuneralhome.com, 159 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park, NJ. Funeral Service Saturday 9:30 am at the Funeral Home followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ.
