Obituary of James Rogan

James D. Rogan died on Monday, May 13, 2013 following a brief illness. He was 74. Born in New York City, he graduated Xavier High School where he made lifelong friends who still gather regularly. He was a graduate of Georgetown University and St. John's University in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander from 1961-1964. Jim was proud of his 100% Irish heritage and still has family ties in Ireland. He was a loyal member of the Irish-American Unity Conference, Activities Unlimited, and a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's Church in Wyckoff. Before retiring in 2002, he was an Investment Advisor, Senior Vice President & Chartered Financial Analyst for 30 years with Paine-Weber/UBS in New York City. Survivors include his wife Joan V. Rogan, a son Jonathan Steffy and his wife Margaux. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Private entombment was held at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Pittsburgh. Contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Attention: Advance Guard, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-9917. Arrangements were by VanderPlaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff.
