Obituary of Louis Aspiotis

ASPIOTIS, Louis, age 85, of Waldwick, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 6, 2013. Born in Atlantic City, Louis grew up in Washington Heights, NY, moving to Waldwick in 1957. Louis served in the National Guard and the Marine Corps Reserve from 1947 until 1956 stationed in Fort Drum, NY. He was a Vice President and Business Agent for the UAW local 300 operating out of Curtiss Wright Aerospace Corporation. After retiring from Curtiss Wright he became a member services representative for HIP of Paramus. Louis was an avid NY Yankees Fan. He is survived by his loving wife Alma, and his daughters Laura Cunnane and her husband Gary of Brick, and Dora Weber and her husband Edward of Waldwick, his 2 grandchildren: Gregory Weber and his wife Erica of Manassas, VA, and Eric Weber of Riverdale, NJ. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren: Timothy, Abigayle, and Madison. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4 - 7PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue Wyckoff, NJ. There will be a graveside funeral service for Louis on Thursday at 11:30 am at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Memorial contributions in Louis's name may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
