Obituary of Paul De Blaey

DE BLAEY Paul H., age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2011. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, he lived in Wyckoff for the last twelve years before recently moving to Midland Park. Paul enjoyed a long career in sales. He was a member of Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and was instrumental in starting the Carey Mississippi Mission Project. Paul served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He loved playing golf, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Alberta "Bert" in 2010. He is survived by his three children: Sharon Vander Weit and husband Mark of Midland Park, Pam Goemaat and husband Jay of Midland Park, and Tim and wife Heather of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren: Michael, Ryan and Kari Vander Weit, Kristine, Sharon and Jonathan Goemaat, and Grace and Leah De Blaey. He is also survived by two great grandchildren and his two brothers: Don De Blaey of North Carolina and Dr. Gordon De Blaey of Michigan. Friends may visit on Sunday, 2-6 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Following private burial at Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery, a Memorial Service will take place on Monday, 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, 422 Cedar Hill Ave., Wyckoff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the mission work of Keith and Debbie Bakker and Dale and Chris Hamilton, c/o Africa Inland Mission International, P.O. Box 3611 Peachtree City, GA 30269-7611.
