Obituary of Charlene Van Gurp

VAN GURP, Charlene R., age 70, of Midland Park died Monday, March 18, 2013 at her residence. Born in Paterson, NJ she resided in Paterson before moving to Midland Park 48 years ago. Charlene was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family as a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother . Charlene was an avid quilter, mentor and well respected by all who knew her. She was a member of the Warwick Valley Quilters Guild, the Brownstone Quilters Guild and the Clifton Quilters Guild. Charlene is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert E. of Midland Park, her children; David Van Gurp of Hewitt, Charlene Van Gurp of Hawthorne and Lynn A. Ver Hage of Midland Park, her 5 Grandchildren, Luke and Robbie Hintzen, Ashley Fischer, Jessica Van Gurp, and Emma Ver Hage and 1 Great Grandson, William Landry. She is also survived by her sister, Sandy Agathokleous of Roebling, NJ, her sister-in-law, Carol Richards of West Milford and several nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlene's memory can be made to Midland Park Ambulance Corp., 42 Pierce Avenue, Midland Park, NJ 07432.
