Obituary of Francis Aquadro
Francis J. Aquadro entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was 93. Born in Northampton, MA he was a long time resident of Midland Park. He served in the Army Air Corp. during WW II as a member of the Sixth Photographic Compilation Squadron which was responsible for translating the aerial photographs taken by the bombers and also responsible for mapping the bombing runs for the invasion of Japan. In 1957, he graduated from Iona College - Magna cum Laude. In 1946 he opened Sun Lumber & Supply Co. in Mount Vernon, NY and Paramus, NJ before retiring in 1980. He was a charter member of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park, NJ, also active in the Paramus Rotary where he served as President and was a volunteer for the Chore organization.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years - Nancy S. Aquadro. A son Francis J. Aquadro and his wife Judith.
A daughter Nancy S. Aquadro. Three grandchildren: Alexandra, Francis and Stuart. Two Brothers: Robert Aquadro and Richard Aquadro and a sister Gladys Stiles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm only at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. Interment will be private. Contributions in Francis' name may be made to the Paramus Rotary Gift of Life, PO Box 1003, Paramus, NJ 07653.
