Obituary of Gene Brown

Brown, Gene B., 87, of Midland Park, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Born and raised in Masontown, WV, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp where he served from October 1944 to November 1945 with the 457th Bombardment Group, 751st Squadron, as a navigator on a B17 Bomber, stationed in Glatton, England. He then graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. During his long career as a specialty chemical sales manager, he worked for American Cyanamid, Shell Oil and Stauffer Chemical Company. After retirement, he continued to work for numerous chemical companies as a sales consultant. He lived in Midland Park with his wife and family for over 48 years. He had been a long-time member of the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ, including being a Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise; his son Mark Brown of Hoboken, NJ; his daughter Anne Naramore of Upper Saddle River; his two grandchildren Eric and Allison; son-in-law Rick Naramore of Saddle River, NJ; and his sister Mary Louise Brown of Morgantown, WV. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10am at the funeral home followed by burial at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
