Obituary of May P. Messaros

Messaros, May (nee Parisi) of Franklin Lakes died Sunday, February 17, 2013. Born in Passaic she lived in Wyckoff before moving to Franklin Lakes. Before her retirement she was the Bookkeeper for Wyckoff Cleaners for 20 years. May was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister as well as bringing communion to the Oakland Care Center. May volunteered in the Religious Education Program for many years, beginning as a group leader for the Junior High Program then moved to the Primary Program where she taught religion classes. Eventually she supervised preschool children so that their parents could teach in the RE program. During this time May also assisted in the RE office. She was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and a long time participant in the Women of Faith Group. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Roy Messaros, her children, Roy C. Messaros of Franklin Lakes, Joan Messaros of Woodland Park and James Messaros of Ridgewood, NJ and her sister, Mary Messineo of Florida. She was predeceased by her daughter, Laura Jean Messaros in 1957 and a brother Mario Parisi and sister Josephine Baggio. The family will gather at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd. Franklin Lakes, NJ on Thursday at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
