My most sincere condolences go out to Bob's family, and especially to his sisters whom I met almost 50 years ago. I was a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament where he was assigned right after ordination, and he became a very dear friend and mentor there. I remember well his confreres, Msgr. Cornelius J. Boyle, Father Patrick McGrath, and Father Robert Garner, but Bob was closer to my own age, and provided me with excellent counsel as I went through the Divinity School and on to Darlington. I enjoyed visiting with his mother and other family members. He had a great sense of humor and love of life, all grounded in his priestly calling. Although we fell out of touch in later years, I thought of him often and always with pleasure.
