Major Mike Allain, US Army posted a condolence
Monday, December 17, 2012
Col. Quackenbush befriended me while I was working as a lifeguard at Crestwood lake back in the early 1990's. He learned that I was commissioning into the Army via ROTC and gave me my first set of gold bars with a very nice note attached to his business card. I remember that he was a very kind man and shared many of his military stories with me at Crestwood. My condolences to his family on the loss of a great man and great leader. Mike Allain, Major US Army

Peter DeYoe on behalf of his and his sister Barbara's family made a donation to St. Elizabeth's Chapel - Tuxedo
In Memory of our uncle, Col David S. Quackenbush, USAF Retired, of Allendale, New Jersey, who served his country with distinction. He promoted an awareness of our cultural heritage of fine music and insight into our local New Jersey historical and family foundations. Ever appreciative of the master's touch in whatever craft or artistry he studied, our Uncle David stood for high common sense in an age of pervasive ignorance and mediocrity, while preserving a wry sense of humor at it all. John Peter DeYoe, Portland, Oregon; Barbara Ann DeYoe Peevey, Asheville, North Carolina; and families
