I first met you when Patti and I were in the 5th grade. Then I had the pleasure of visiting with you and Mr. Chapman in Ocean Gate some 50 years later. I was astonished that you both looked exactly as I had remembered in 5th grade! I would have recognized you anywhere. As we all sat in your living room chatting, it was obvious that after more than 60 years of marriage, you were both still very much in love.
Through the years following, I shared in your joys, trials and tribulations through Patti. It was a rough three and a half years and you were both very fortunate to have Patti by your side. She made it her life's mission to see to it that she did everything that was humanly possible to make the journey as pleasant, stress free and painless as possible for you and her Dad. She affectionately referred to you as "the kids." She was going to see the "kids" at the Christmas show or she was taking "the kids" out for lunch or running to the store to get supplies for "the kids." The journey was not an easy one for her, but she was devoted and determined.
It was her privilege and honor to take care of her wonderful, loving parents. She was in awe of you both as am I. Thank you for raising your daughter to be someone that I am fortunate to call my friend.
