Obituary of June Parisi

PARISI, June Barbara 78, of East Windsor, N.J., passed away on December 7, 2012, surrounded by her loving family and friends. June was born in Jersey City, N.J. to the late Christian and Emily (Kypta) Muller. She graduated from Cliffside Park High School in 1952 and from Jersey City Teachers College, going on to become a second grade elementary school teacher. At school she met her husband, Paul Parisi of Fairview, N.J. and they married on December 28, 1957. They resided in Waldwick, N.J., for close to 35 years before moving to East Windsor, N.J., in 2004 to live with her daughter and her family in an historic farmhouse. June filled her life with family and friends and dedicated herself to being a full time mother, homemaker and grandmother. She volunteered for many years as a Girl Scout leader, earlier was an avid bowler, made a hobby of having and going to garage sales and was forever a passionate gardener and lover of music. She had a love of old houses and diligently worked on the restoration of her 260 year old house, proudly decorating for each holiday. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a steadfast member at Trinity Lutheran Church, Calvary Lutheran and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Her deep faith was a guiding and steady force throughout her life. June relished the time spent with her grandchildren, tended countless hours in her flower beds and spent free time traveling to visit family in California and Italy. She believed in never letting the grass grow under her feet and was a beautiful, active, strong, vibrant woman who will be forever missed. June is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Paul; a daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law, Chon; a daughter, Laura, and son-in-law, Brian; a daughter Sandra, and future son-in-law, Marty; her sisters, Arlene Macke and Diane Kearney; grandchildren Evan, Grace, Lucas and Colin; and many devoted nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. June was pre-deceased by her brother Richard Muller. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, N.J. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 165 West Crescent Ave, Allendale, N.J. Burial will follow at Valleau Cemetery, 546 Franklin Tpk, Ridgewood, N.J.
