Obituary of Michael Kravatz

Kravatz, Michael J. age 57 of Wyckoff, NJ died Thursday, July 19, 2007. Born in the Bronx, NY, he and his family lived in New City, NY and Charlotte, NC before coming to Wyckoff 5 years ago. Michael was passionate about three things in life: family, church and work. He was the consummate corporate executive having worked for Honeywell Corp. of Morristown for many years and most recently was owner of MJK Consulting. With his wife Marylin he enjoyed the love and friendship of so many people at St. Elizabeth's Church in Wyckoff, NJ where he served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and team director of Cornerstone. Throughout their married life Michael and Marylin served on many ministry teams including Engaged Encounter, Marriage Encounter, Pre Cana, and Day by Day Agape retreats. Michael's proudest achievement was his family: wife Marylin ( nee Swartz) Kravatz, PhD, and his children including his sons, Michael D. and wife Shana of Suffern, NY, Matthew G. and wife Jennifer of Congers, NY, Mark A. of Providence, RI, his daughters, Marybeth Kravatz and her fiancế Anthony of Haledon, NJ and Marisa A. of Wyckoff. He leaves behind his mother, Florence (nee Jarosewski) Kravatz of Eastchester, NY, his sister, Veronica and her husband Greg Burghardt of Rockaway, NJ. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Michael, Andrew and Thomas, and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Kravatz and a sister, Mariann Alberti. All are welcome to visit Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial is Monday 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Interment at Cemetery of the Ascension, Monsey, NY. As Michael was one of the founding members of the Pietro Maugeri Foundation, P.O. Box 93, Hillsdale, NJ, donations would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
