Obituary of Edward Swanton

SWANTON, Edward T. age 75 of Upper Saddle River died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Edward was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He and his family moved to Upper Saddle River in March of 1973. Edward was a Managing Director for Merrill Lynch in New York City for 25 years before his retirement in 1987. He was an active parishioner of Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (nee Kelly), his children, Jennifer Ann and her husband Bruce Murray of Wyckoff, Kathleen Mary and her husband Adam Dresner of Ellicott City, MD, Edward Terence, Jr. of Upper Saddle River, Patricia Grace and her husband Ronald Snyder of Wyckoff and Peter Timothy and Fralee of Tampa, FL. Edward also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Daniel, James, Kennedy Leigh, Kelly, Caroline, Edward, Lily, Lilah Marie and Liam, and his sisters, Patricia Wattai and Kathleen Rolfingsmier. Edward was pre-deceased by his sister Marion Strauman. The Swanton family will receive family and friends on Monday 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday 10:00 AM at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River. Interment will follow in the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
