Obituary of Dorothy Eyl

EYL, Dorothy, age 84, of Wyckoff, died November 30, 2012 at the Allendale Nursing Home. Born in Yonkers, NY, as Dorothy Marie Hoar, she was professionally known as Dorothy Hoarton. She received extensive training in dance in Yonkers and New York and was accepted as a Radio City Music Hall Rockettes in 1947 were she performed for 20 years. She later worked with world renowned producers Leon Leonidoff and Russell Markert. In 1973 Dorothy married Henri Eyl, well known International Insurance Broker and Yachtsman, founder of Eyl Brothers International. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Henri Eyl, her parents James A. and Bridget Hoar, her brother James T. Hoar, and her sister Margaret Plascyk. She is survived by her cousin Margaret Rolfs, her brother-in-law James Plascyk, her step-daughter Bettina Eyl Adams, step-son Peter Eyl, 3 nieces: Mary Kopas, Barbara Slopak, and Carol Farrell, and 5 step-grandchildren. Visiting hours are Sunday, 3 - 5 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass is Monday, 11:00am at the Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Burial will follow at the Cemetery.
