Obituary of Alfred E. Fernandez

Fernandez, Alfred E. age 86 of Waldwick, formerly of Jersey City died Monday, November 26, 2012. Born in Jersey City he lived there before moving to Waldwick in 1978. Alfred served in the US Marine Corp during WW II. He was a member of American Legion Post 419, Jersey City. He is a parishioner of Church of the Nativity, Midland Park and a former member of Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, Jersey City and its Rosary Society. Before his retirement he was a Refrigeration Specialist for the Military Ocean Terminal, Bayonne, NJ. Surviving is his wife, Delphine (nee Scalcione) Fernandez of Waldwick, his brother, Joseph Fernandez and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence. Visiting Wednesday 5-9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Thursday 9:30 am at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park, NJ. Entombment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 would be appreciated.
