Obituary of Rosemary Van Cott
Rosemary Van Cott, age 92 a long time resident of Oakland passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020. Rosemary was born in New York, NY and recently moved from Oakland to Wayne, NJ. She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland. Rosemary dedicated her life to caring for and raising her children along with her loving husband, Edmund. Rosemary is survived by her loving daughter and sons; Carol Walton and her husband, David of Ringwood, Edmund Van Cott and his wife, Dorothy of Hamilton Square, NJ and Paul H. Van Cott and his wife Gayle of Medford, NJ. Left to carry on their grandmother’s legacy is her five grandchildren; Bethany DeWolfe and her husband Andrew, Sarah Walton and her companion, Kent Burgess, Emily Walton and her companion, David Garske, Alyssa Van Cott, Paul Van Cott and her great granddaughter Eden DeWolfe. Rosemary was predeceased by her loving husband, Edmund, to whom she was married for 60 years. All funeral services currently will be private with the family to plan a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. As an expression of Rosemary’s love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.
