Mrs. McGill: I’m sorry for not having had the opportunity to post something here sooner. My interactions with you in your life were, unfortunately, limited, but you nevertheless had a deep impact on both me and my mother. I may have been little, but I remember all those years ago when you offered to be a grandmother for me to make up for losing my own far too soon. The fact you had room in your heart still with a family as large as yours to offer that goes to show how unique and benevolent a woman you were. I like to think my mom, God rest her soul, saw you as a guiding light as well.
Your legacy and spirit continue to live on with your daughter, my aunt, and I’m blessed to continue to be able to be part of your wonderful family in that way.

Hi Mom. Six terrible months without you. This month we will hopefully get to go to Brig. It will certainly not be the same without you. Nothing is the same without you. We all miss you tremendously. I visited you today as you know with Dad and Tom. We said Hail Mary and I know that you are with She whom you so adored. Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us. Mom I'm not sure a day will ever pass that tears don't dampen my cheeks. Forever grateful and now forever longing to see you, hug you, be comforted by you. Love you.

I miss you. I have been thinking how different this year in Brigantine will be for those who can make it. What an extraordinary gift you gave us each year, organizing the annual family vacation. I miss being in the kitchen going over housing assignments and the menu for family dinner. I miss doing 'the count'. I miss watching you shepherd your family and working to create more memories each year for us. I miss you.

Hi Mom. Somehow coming here each month on the day God welcomed you home brings comfort to me through some connection to the week of extreme mixed emotions knowing we were saying goodbye but knowing too it was time for you to be free of pain and suffering. Every minute of every day I wish it weren't so but the love, family and faith you gifted only grows stronger each day as I'm humbled and in endless wonderment at the mark you left behind. So now 5 months later the grief and sorrow may have transitioned to acceptance and the pain of your loss has been replaced with a deep longing to have you here. This month your special guy will be graduating from Kennedy Catholic High School and I know you will be with us that day when Zachary Thomas Gerstner walks to the altar and receives his diploma. Mom, he carries your picture with him in his car so that wherever he goes, you are there. xoxo Love, Mary

Dear Mom, It is now 4 months to the day since you became our heavenly angel watching over us. Next week will be mother's day. It won't be easy but I will reflect on how wonderful you made my life and how grateful I am for your love and caring for 54 years. What a blessing. It is a strange world today. I said prayers for you today while attending mass virtually. I'm thankful at least I can still celebrate mass this way. It was the fourth Sunday after Easter and I know you are up in Heaven. That I take comfort and as Pete said because of our faith I know I will see you again. Love, Mary

Mom there is a lot of sadness in the world today on top of the ultimate personal sadness felt exactly 3 months ago when the Lord took you home. I miss you terribly knowing I can't just reach out. I know you know because we do still communicate daily through prayers. Please continue to watch over us all and special prayers for our family members on the front line battling this terrible pandemic. Love you and know you are taking care of us from above just as you did when you were here. xoxo

Mom my heart is heavy for my love bug. It has been exactly one month since you have left us on earth with the most beautiful memories and knowledge of how much you love us. I know you continue to watch over us but I miss you deeply. I talk to you each day - as you know - and will be forever grateful for the love and life you have given me. Love you forever. A prayer I said to you on your surprise birthday 20 years ago and my prayers at night ever since
“ Our father in heaven who’s love is divine. Thanks for the love of a mother like mine. And in thy great mercy you looked down from above and granted this dear mother the gift of your love. And all through the year whatever betide her you were always there beside her. And dear Father in heaven you showed her the way to lighten her tasks and brightened her day. And dear god you granted her the incite to see that her love meant more than the world to me “

Grandma, I love you so much. Even if I couldn't see you as much as I wanted, I always loved getting to hear from you whether it was through cards, news from Grandpa Steve or even on the phone sometimes. Hearing from you never failed to make me smile.
You were an amazing woman, and touched so many people. I hope you find peace and love at home.

My Grandma was one of the best people you will ever know. She was such a caring loving person that always made you feel happy when you were around her. She could never fail to put a smile on your face. She is one of the people who shaped me into who I am today. The greatest thing about my Grandma was how she made me feel special and loved at all times. You will always be in my heart Grandma. Love your grandson Zach.

My favorite thing about my Grandma was how she could put a smile on anyone's face and immediately change their day from bad to good. Also how she encouraged me to keep in touch with God and stay loyal to my faith even when times were tough and nothing was going my way. I love you Grandma and I miss you very much. Your grandson Luke.

Mom, your kindness and love for others was amazing and I was blessed to learn from you. ALL of us received so much love. I don't know how it was possible to give so much to your husband, 10 children and spouses, grandchildren, great grands, friends, co-workers and your church community. I don't know how you had the time and energy to accomplish all you did.
Your strength, dignity and intelligence will be missed, and I will cherish your guidance and lessons. It's hard to keep this short. There is so much more to say, and I know I will continue to ask for your help and your wonderful examples will give me my answers. Thank you Mom.
