He will always be Uncle Bob to me. He and Aunt Karen have been close friends with my parents since high school, and I have many fond memories of my family spending time with the Hausmanns when I was growing up. We spent one week of almost every summer together at their beach house in Long Beach Island. I still think of that house as my home away from home. I can still hear us all signing along to The Monkees during dinner on the balcony. Our families traveled out west together multiple times. I'll never forget my father, Colby and I in the car with Uncle Bob driving through the darkness late at night in Wyoming or Utah and almost running into a cow in the middle of the road - we all had a good laugh over that. I'll also never forget that when I took a sales job fresh out of college in 2000, Uncle Bob mailed me a note of congratulations and encouragement on letterhead that read "6 months ago I kouldn't even spel salesmun, now I are one." He was always so encouraging, friendly, and positive. In fact, I'd have to say he's probably one of the most positive people I've ever met in my life. Every single time I was in his presence, his presence alone made the situation more enjoyable. That's no exaggeration. The guy couldn't stop smiling, and he saw the good in people. His faith always impressed me, and I know it is the reason he is at home now. We will all miss him dearly, but I'm sure he is in his own "Nature of Beauty" now with our Lord. God Bless, Uncle Bob.
