Obituary of Robert "Bob" Macauley
Robert “Bob” Macauley affectionately known to many as “Boo” and “Mac” passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the age of 70. Born in Paterson, he was a long time resident of Glen Rock.
Bob began his career in 1970 as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service in Allendale and retired in 2006. He was an avid Yankee and Jets fan and enjoyed painting birdhouses and working on jigsaw puzzles. Bob coached his sons’ soccer and baseball teams and enjoyed traveling with his family to the Jersey Shore and Florida.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Lynn whom she lovingly called “Chick.” He is also survived by his two sons: Michael, his wife Bonnie; Brian, his wife Amy, and two grandsons Nathan and Benjamin. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held on Saturday in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. with interment following at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood.
