Obituary of Rose Richardson

RICHARDSON, Rose H. (nee Collina) recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She died peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2007 at her home at Sunrise Assisted Living in Paramus. Rose was born in the Bronx, NY on October 24, 1907, and lived most of her life in Ridgewood and HoHoKus. After graduating from the School of Applied Design for Women in New York, she worked as a commercial artist. In the years to follow, Rose was dedicated to raising her family. She was a member of the Ridgewood Women's Club, and volunteered at the Cerebral Palsey Center in Ridgewood. Surviving are her devoted children, Richard T. and his wife Linda of Morristown, Elaine and her husband Michael Lefebvre of HoHoKus, Roger W. and his wife Peggy of Franklin Lakes, and Nancy C. Richardson and her companion Fred Myers of Apache Junction, AZ. Rose also leaves her 10 adoring grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and her brother Robert Collina of Westwood. Rose was pre-deceased by her husband Rolande H. Richardson in 1973. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Sunrise of Paramus for the loving care and support shown to their mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting is Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, Northern Regional Center, P.O.Box 212, Midland Park, NJ 07432.
