Dearest Gilda & Family,
I am so sorry to have just heard of Bob's passing. My heartfelt condolences to you all. He was truly a kind and caring soul. From the days of growing up and watching/babysitting the neighborhood kids and then as an adult working with him in all the shows, it was a great honor to now him. Much love to all- Lynn

Heartfelt condolences to Gilda, Robert, Christopher, and Michelle. Bob had many roles - teacher, administrator, Board member, husband, father - and as singular as all the others - friend. He was wonderful in all of them. There is not a person who ever had a bad word to say about Bob. He was a neighbor, colleague, and a wonderful friend. Missed by all, especially his wonderful family, but certainly never forgotten.

Gilda, you and your family have my deepest sympathy. Please be assured that Bob is now in his love and protection. I will always remember his kindness and brotherly love that we shared as Phi Sigs at East Stroudsburg. Although work and geography have separated us in our adult lives they have never broken the bonds that were created during those times and for this I will always be grateful.

My condolences to Bob’ wife, children, and grandchildren, and entire family. It was my pleasure to be at East Stroudsburg State College in the class of 1964 with Bob. We were founding fraternity brothers in Phi Sigma Kappa and he was a great brother, friend, and leader in the house. I have wonderful memories of his easy going and patient personality that endeared him to do many brothers and friends. He was special.

As a teacher in West Milford, I was happy for the opportunity to work under Bob Gilmartin. On occasions that I got to work and speak with him directly, it was always evident that he was a man of conviction, making all decisions with the best interest of the people of our district in mind. My condolences to all of his close friends and family.

I have nothing but the fondest memories of Bob Gilmartin. We met when he hired me as a member of the school office staff at Macopin Middle School, in West Milford, NJ in 1983. He was the principal then.
Later, in 1999, as Superintendent of West Milford Township, Bob recommended I be hired once again as a certified teacher. It was my privilege to work for him.
Bob was supportive as a boss, dedicated to the students of West Milford, always talked about his lovely wife, Gilda, and was so proud of his children. We was a good friend and will be missed.
My sincere condolences to his entire family.

So many memories over so many years. Gilda and family - my heart hurts learning of Bob's passing. Our friendship was very special to Jim and me. I remember when Jim was at West Milford - always spoke about The G-Man! May he rest in peace - no more pain, and know he will always be remembered with love and affection. What a wonderful person. Rest in peace, Bob. When you enter the Gates of Heaven - look for Jim; I'm sure he'll be waiting to welcome his friend.

To Gilda and all of the family...my prayers for peace and strength go out to you!!!
I grew up hearing about Bob Gilmartin and Frank Puccio from my father. The stories always included humor , mischief, love and care. Later I had the pleasure of working for Mr. Gilmartin at the Bergen County office. He was a kind, funny, smart man and a wonderful communicator!!!

You introduced me to my best friend, your wife, Gilda, when you came to my home for an AFS meeting when you were a history teacher at Midland Park High School and Robert and Jenny were babies. Our children grew up playing in each other's homes and our families shared so many precious times with picnics, swimming, applauding at plays. Your tireless leadership in countless levels of education made you a role model for many, including me. You were fun. You were warm. You were utterly devoted to your family. We know your faith has been rewarded and you rest in the arms of Jesus. How we will miss you here on earth!
Love,
Carol and Bob Ray
