Miss you Pops. You are forever in my thoughts.
Our last ride along the coast will be a cherish memory and you private words you spoke will never be forgotten.
You were the Best Dad and Friend and Mentor a son could ever be blessed with having and our time together over the years could never be matched.
We will toast you this year at the reunion.
Love you forever and see you at the Pub.

This will not be a surprise to those family and friends who loved Neal, but I would like to share my impression of him as a weekly visitor to watermark assisted-living. Our golden doodle, Bailey, is a registered pet therapy dog and we visited Neal to bring Catholic communion to him. He was unfailingly upbeat and generous to a fault, making Bailey and me feel welcome and appreciated. Even toward the end when he was fading he made a serious effort to come downstairs to join us when he could. He spoke enthusiastically about upcoming trips with his family and was so proud of all of you, your far-flung places that you lived and the interesting work you are doing. He would light up talking about his family. That he passed on his wedding anniversary is lovely. I am sad he’s no longer with us but happy that his soul is free and he is reunited with family. May he rest in peace

I love you grandpa. I’m so thankful for you. For your wisdom. For the way you intentionally chose to love me and make me feel included. You never treated me differently. You went out of your way on so many occasions to build a relationship with me and my family. You helped bridge so many gaps of unknowns for me over the years. I’m so thankful for you. I will forever remember your art of telling a good story, leaving nothing out, and painting the most vivid picture of whatever the event. I will never forget the moments we spent chatting about Ireland, your childhood, my Dad and his brother & sisters growing up and connecting so many pieces for me. You loved your family so well, especially Grandma. I pray my grandkids can say the same about me one day. Rest peacefully knowing that your legacy and life lives on through the hearts you’ve touched and the people you inspired. You were so smart, witty, kind and gentle. I’m thankful to have been your grand daughter.

I have so many fond memories of this wonderful man over my 40 years of being a part of this family. Kind gentle, compassionate. I am especially grateful for how he treated my children Jennifer and Richard over our many vacations, from Finger Lakes, to the NJ Shore, Easter egg hunts in Florida to Sparrow Lake in Ontario. He and Trudy embraced them as their own and my children often talk about Grandma and Grandpa Mahoney. He touched so many lives and I will hold a special place in my heart forever. Thank you Neil for leaving us all such wonderful memories, you will be missed but yours was a life to celebrate! I celebrate you and am glad you are now in such a wonderful place with God. We love you. Rest In Peace..your friend and adopted daughter Suzanne xx

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Neil's passing! My memories are very fond ones, visiting Canada several summer's and spending the time with Aunt Trudy, Uncle Neil and all my cousins! These were very special times for me, and I wish I'd still had the same strong connection to everyone that I did back then! My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family! Love you all!
