Obituary of Stella Biernacki
Stella S. Biernacki, 83, of Waldwick, died on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she has lived in Waldwick for the past 57 years.
Stella started her career in Ho-Ho-Kus Bakery and was affectionately known as the “Cookie Lady”, because she gave away cookies to all the children who came into the bakery. Stella continued as a Receptionist for Dr. Arthur Antler in Mahwah until she retired in 1995. She was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, where she was a member of Renew and the Senior Lukans.
Stella is survived by her devoted daughter, Marianne and her husband, Joseph Agner of Hawthorne and her son-in-law, Daniel Hennessy of Latrobe, PA. She also leaves her five grandchildren: Sean, Alyssa and her husband Jackson, Steven and his wife Heather, Anthony and Sarah, four great-grandchildren: Aidan, Isabella, Madison, and Delaney and ten nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Stanley, in 2007, her daughter Susan Hennessy and her granddaughter Katharine Hennessy, both in 2018.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, 2 – 4 and 7 - 9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the St. Luke’s RC Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. Burial will follow at the St. Luke’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stella’s memory can be made to the St. Luke’s Senior Lukans, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423.
