Obituary of Bart Majorie
Bart A. Majorie, 98, of Vero Beach, FL, and formerly of Wyckoff, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019. Born in Fort Lee, NJ, Bart lived in Wyckoff before moving to Vero Beach, FL in 1978. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Flight instructor with an Honorable Discharge and earned the Navy Good Conduct Medal. In 1943 he married Anna and they shared 55 years of happiness before her death in 1998.
Bart owned and operated Franklin Iron Works in Wyckoff until his retirement in the 80’s.
Bart was also a member of the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Deputy Chief of Company 1.
In Florida he joined the Vero Beach Elks and became an Elk of the Year. He was also an active member in the Italian American Club and the American Legion. His biggest enjoyment was sharing his days helping friends and neighbors.
Bart is survived by his daughter Dianne Naccarato and her husband Peter of Flemington, NJ and his granddaughter Elizabeth Teubert. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Cammy Ann Teubert in 2013. He also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
Visiting hours are Thursday 11:30 am to 1:00pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes. A mass in his honor will be held at St. John of the Cross in Vero Beach, FL, where he was a longtime member, at a future date.
