Obituary of Leona N. Reap

Leona N. Reap (nee DeYoung), age 86 of Mahwah, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 10, 2018. Born in Paterson, Lee grew up in Hawthorne before moving to Mahwah more than 40 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s RC Church in Ramsey for many years. Lee was never happier than when surrounded by family and friends. She was a loving devoted grandmother, aunt and friend, loved by all who knew her. Surviving are her nephews, Richard Kraemer and his wife Carole and James Kraemer. Lee also leaves great nieces and nephews, Richard Kraemer, Jr, Jeffrey Kraemer, Ashley McAndrews, Linnae Kraemer, Rebecca Kraemer and 3 great great nieces and a nephew.  Lee was pre-deceased by her husbands, Anthony Cariddi and Philipp Reap. She is survived by her Cariddi step-children, Frank and his wife Karen and Mark and his wife Kathleen, her step-grandchildren, Anthony, Jason, Brian and Alexis and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her Reap step-children, Joseph and his wife Karen, Kevin and his wife Diana and Irene and her husband Mark Kramer, her step- grandchildren, Stephanie, Ali, Shaun, Matt, Mark Jr., and Audrey. The family will receive friends on Thursday 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will be held Friday, 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s RC Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Lee’s name may be made to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc., 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.
