Obituary of Marie R. Andreotta
Marie, Miss Faucetta, Mrs. Andreotta, Mommy, Aunt Marie, Grandma Rie. No matter what you may have called her, she was quite simply, the Strongest, Toughest Most Amazing Woman We Have Ever Known! On Monday, December 3, 2018, our mother Marie Faucetta Andreotta passed away. She lived life to the fullest, bringing love, laughter, and joy to all who knew her. A teacher, reading specialist, volunteer and lover of all creatures great and small. She gave us our love of reading, travel, live music, fine (and not so fine food), adult beverages and of course the Giants (we thank them for that OT win on Sunday)!
Whether we were traveling across town or across the country she, along with our father and their friends created adventures that we will never forget. Marie had the ability to make the most mundane everyday tasks magical. Washing the kitchen floor became a train ride for our stuffed animals. A sunny afternoon in the yard became a cheerleading clinic, although she was the only one who perfected her cartwheel, thanks to all her years cheering at Pompton Lakes High School and Seton Hall University.
Marie had us traveling near and far, but she never allowed us to have a dull car ride. Whether it was a quick trip to our grandparents, a backwards facing drive with our aunt and uncle and cousins, a roadtrip with her best friend Bonnie and her kids, or a cross country adventure for the four of us to our beloved Colorado, there was always music, laughter and the promise that our car might start flying at anytime to avoid a traffic backup.
Our hearts may be broken but we have comfort knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, our father John & so many family & friends. We know that he had an incredible meal waiting for her.
Marie is survived by a vast village of family & friends including her daughters, Nancy and Lisa, her brothers Pete and Sam, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends that are family and her grand dog Rascal who fell in love with her the moment he saw her.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Marie's 40 year battle with MS. She never let it stop her from being an amazing woman!
